Safe and Effective Flu Therapies
Many of my medical colleagues regard homeopathic therapies as useless because they are lacking in substance. Homeopathics are preparations of substance, which undergo successive dilutions, until there are no molecules of substance left. What they retain is the memory of the substance. This memory is the cause of great dispute, as was the concept of gravity at one time, or the concept of relativity more recently.
Concerning memory, many experiments have shown memory to be a powerful, real entity. In the late 1980 s, the world-respected scientific magazine Nature published research showing that specific homeopathic administration produced statistically significant immune response, as measured by T-cell counts. The medical uproar which resulted was deafening. The researchers who had succeeded in this demonstration of immune response to homeopathic therapy were forced to repeat their demonstration many times, under the scrutiny of a fraud-squad, who interfered with their methods until they could no longer achieve the results previously published. The fraud-squad left satisfied, having completed their mission. Summary statements were made to discredit the research, the uproar died down, and business-as-usual returned to the medical world.
At the same time, neuroimmunologists were conducting similar experiments elsewhere. They found that they could draw the blood of human beings who were directed to remember the happiest moments in their lives. Their labworks showed elevated levels of endorphins, enkephalins, and other healthy neurotransmitters, which were known to enhance immune function. Upon directing these individuals to recall the most traumatic moments in life, their labworks showed blood depressed in the levels of these substances, and blood elevated in cortisol, epinephrine, and other biochemicals known to suppress immune function. No fraud-squad came to their lab to discredit their studies, because their studies didn t challenge the pharmaceutical industry and its authoritative dispensers. People are still free to hold wonderful memories, which may be beneficial for the immune response, according to scientific studies, but it would be foolishness not to add an antibiotic just in case.
I utilize homeopathic formulations whenever possible, because they afford the possibility of helping the individual access its memory regarding successful resolution of an issue. If that individual has all the resources it needs, in terms of raw materials, and the ability to direct its homeostatic processes, homeopathics can help increase the efficiency of these processes. I use them with children a lot, because children have less accumulations of message-blocking chemicals in their bodies, in general. Homeopathics also afford the possibility of providing a form of therapy which is free of adverse effects for everyone. Either the message of the remedy is going to make sense to the recipient, or it is going to be disregarded.
There are a number of homeopathics which can be successfully administered to someone with the flu. The homeopathic singles I most commonly utilize are Arsenicum, Gelsemium, Ipecac, Nux Vomica, Belladonna, Rhus tox, and a nosode called Oscillococcinum. A nosode is a homeopathic preparation of an infectious organism. I also utilize different homeopathic combinations from Germany for different types of flu, and a combination nosode from another European source for various kinds of flu.
In Europe, homeopathics are highly regarded as effective management options for a variety of conditions by many medical practitioners, alternative healthcare practitioners, and the public. Three of the four lines of homeopathics I utilize are European.
The homeopathics I find most successful clinical response with each year s variations of the flu are the ones I include in the Flustop Combination Therapy packages. The packages, as you will find out, also include the herbs, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and essential oils needed for prevention of infectious illnesses, and immediate resolution of the illnesses caused by viral and bacterial organisms, including the many varieties of the flu.
VITAMINS AND COFACTORS
Vitamin A, and its precursors, the carotenoids, are known to enhance immune function and protect the integrity of cells lining the respiratory and digestive systems. It assists healthy cell membrane synthesis. Included in the antioxidant formulas.
Thiamine, (B1) is needed as a coenzyme for the process of creating antibodies. Included in the foundational nutrient formulas.
Riboflavin (B2) is a cofactor for many important enzyme pathways that provide the energy needed to perform vital cell functions, and is known to boost immune function. Included in the foundational nutrient formulas.
Niacinamide (B3) is needed for lipid metabolism, and functions as a free-radical scavenger (helps in the clean-up processes of tissue damage in the fight against infection, and during inflammatory events). Included in the foundational nutrient formulas.
Pantothenic acid (B5) is an essential component of healthy epithelial cells (skin and respiratory entryways). Deficiency of pantothenic acid is known to manifest with increased susceptibility to infections. Included in the foundational nutrients formulas.
Pyridoxine (B6) is required for amino acid, carbohydrate, and lipid metabolism. It is converted into coenzymes which are active in a wide variety of metabolic reactions. The transamination of amino acids is what allows the body such a quick antibody-production response. It also is required for healthy skin, respiratory and digestive tracts. Included in the foundational nutrients formulas.
Folic acid (B9) is converted in the body to tetrahydrofolate, which functions as a base for coenzymes which play major roles in intracellular metabolism. Folic acid can reduce damage to the cell s DNA, and can prevent replication errors. (If you remember, the virus replicates itself by inserting its program into the cell replication factory area, causing a misreading to occur, which results in our bodies replicating lots of virus particles, which then assemble themselves into lots more viruses.) Lack of folic acid blocks the formation of white blood cells, which are the key players of the immune system. Included in the foundational nutrient formulas.
Methylcobalamin (B12) is required for blood cell formation, and for many components of every cell in the body. Included in the foundational nutrition formulas.
While research still has not figured out exactly how these B-complex vitamins promote cellular health, research has figured out that deficiencies of each B-vitamin result in a wide variety of troubles, including immune function. This is one of the reasons good foundational nutrition is needed. A good multivitamin will include the B-complex vitamins. A great multivitamin will include the B-complex vitamins in the forms which are known to be most easily assimilated by the body, and in conjunction with other nutrients that work synergistically with the B-vitamins. Every FluStop Prevention package includes the multivitamin/mineral/antioxidant formulations I have found to be the best for each age group. These are formulated for maximum absorption and assimilation, and are the best foundational nutrition formulas I have found.
Vitamin C plays a very important role in many aspects of the immune system and infection resistance. It acts as an antioxidant, protecting cell membranes, DNA and proteins from oxidative damage. Deficiency of vitamin C is known to delay wound healing. A good vitamin C source for children is acerola from cherries. For adults, a buffered C with mineral ascorbates is far superior to ascorbic acid; as is esterified, buffered C with mineral ascorbates, in terms of assimilation and acidity.
Vitamin E is another powerful antioxidant, which protects cell membranes. Deficiency of vitamin E and other micronutrients seems to affect the number and function of natural killer cells in old age. For immune function, vitamin E supplementation might replenish an unapparent deficiency. Vitamin E plays a protective role in cell proliferation and differentiation in immune cells, including platelets and monocytes. Included in the foundational nutrition formulas and the antioxidant formulas.
